“Lorraine des Jardins” is a young association set up in 2009 by eight founding Lorraine gardens with the encouragement and support of Lorraine Regional Council, the Regional Department of the Environment (DREAL) and the Regional Department of Cultural Affairs (DRAC).
It is aimed at all owners or managers of parks and gardens open permanently or occasionally to the public as part of the “Visit a garden in Lorraine” regional campaign.
Our association wishes to provide a forum for discussion and meetings for all its members.
AIMS
- To work with the various regional and departmental tourist authorities to promote public and private parks and gardens open to the public.
- To represent these parks and gardens before the public authorities and other organizations, notably as part of the “Visit a garden in Lorraine” campaign.
- To help them achieve recognition as being part of our landscape and cultural heritage.
ACTIONS
Association representatives sit on the regional decision-making bodies (“Visit a garden in Lorraine” campaign steering committee; regional committee for awarding the “Outstanding Garden” label)...
- Involved in writing and distributing the “Visit a garden in Lorraine” brochure and drawing up a quality charter as part of the campaign
- Coordinating the network of parks and gardens open to the public, notably by setting up the website www.lorrainedesjardins.com.
- Organizing themed and technical days for members only, on the themes of sustainable development and organic gardening, with the support of the Environment Department.
